Maria is back to teaching a round of workshops at Julie Rosvall’s studio in the Gaspereau Valley, Nova Scotia. Julie has a wonderful little printmaking workshop that makes it a fabulous experience especially for anyone who loves fibre, textile art and printmaking. The first workshop will be a highly experimental Monotype workshop for the lover of all things fibre. We experiment with your fabric, yarn, embroidery floss scraps to create stunning one of a kind images.
The second workshop will be focussing on Multi-layered Monotype, which is a bit slower, more deliberate and with quite a bit more planning. You will be wiping an image into an inked plate and with each printed colour layer a fully aligned and carefully created one-of-a kind piece of artwork will emerge.
The 62nd Toronto Outdoor artfair was a great success. Maria’s booth location was excellent and had thousands of visitors. Sales were good and more than 50 works were sold including the brand new “Enveloping Calm” artist proof.
Thank you kindly for all the fantastic folks who brought their art appreciation and enthusiasm to the Toronto Outdoor Artfair. Maria has made available a selection of works in her online shop for those who couldn’t make it to the fair.
Maria will be bringing the newest work in her Cells, Souls and Personalities series of linocuts to Toronto later this month. She will be showing two new large linocuts on paper, entitled Gentle Determination and Burst of Energy, and a new 1m round print on fabric with embroidery entitled Fulfilling, as well as more than a dozen new smaller prints. Altogether she will have more than a hundred pieces to share with everyone at the fair. Please come down to see her, rain or shine, in booth 140. Can’t make it to the show in person? TOAF also includes an online fair, open from 2-9 July 2023 – you can access Maria’s virtual booth by clicking the TOAF poster below!

A note from Maria: “Thank you to my dear husband Scott who was my partner, booth assistant, organizer, statistician, business brain and muscle. Without him these big adventures wouldn’t be happening.”
