Workshops at Visual Voice in November and December
Maria has two more workshops coming up at Visual Voice Fine Art in Truro. Early registration is definitely recommended as the Monotype workshops have been very popular!
Are you always rushing to get all your holiday cards done on time for friends and family? We have the perfect solution for you! Join us for an early Holiday card workshop. We will be using Monotype printmaking methods to create one of a kind holiday cards that will astonish your friends and family. Best of all, you get to have a lot of fun experimenting with found materials, drawing into ink with Q-tips, brushes and rags, working with paper cut-outs and much more. You can come prepared with image ideas or spend the day experimenting spontaneously with this much more direct and painterly printmaking technique. You do not need previous knowledge of printmaking to participate in this workshop. Please bring an apron or old t-shirt and any thin/flat found materials like dried leaves, thread, paper cut outs, holiday imagery and decorations etc. If you can’t think of anything, not to worry, there will be materials supplied as well.
Nov 3 Thursday 10:00 – 3:30 pm only $75 +tax per person.
30 min lunch break – bring your own
Limited space, Pre-registration required 902-843-9464
The year in review. In this Reflections and Resolutions Monotype Workshop you will be developing imagery that symbolizes what mattered to you in 2016 and your hopes and dreams for 2017. While taking a break from Holiday parties and preparations for New Year’s Eve this workshop is a perfect one-day meditation allowing you to look inward and express your ideas through the painterly method of Monotype printmaking. You will not be creating an edition of multiples but instead remove ink from a plate with various rags, Q-tips, and brushes and found materials to create a single print. This time we will be using larger plates than in previous workshops. Participants can expect to create 2-5 different prints during this workshop. The workshop will begin with a few simple exercises to help you shed the holiday stress and focus on your reflections. You can come prepared with image ideas or spend the day experimenting spontaneously with this much more direct and painterly printmaking technique. You do not need previous knowledge of printmaking to participate in this workshop. Please bring an apron or old t-shirt and any thin/flat found materials like dried leaves, thread, paper cut outs, and anything that may inspire your reflections and resolutions. If you can’t think of anything, not to worry, there will be materials supplied as well.
